CRM 2013 Support Configurations are Changing
Posted by Donna Krizik on May 22, 2014
The next two versions of Dynamics CRM will be SP1 and CRM Online Spring ’14 expected later this year. What’s important about that? Not much, but just a few announcements from Microsoft about some CRM and associated products that won’t be supported after those two releases.
Below are some of the changes in the Dynamics CRM Server support matrix, SQL Server, and CRM for Outlook.
Operating systems being removed from Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server:
- Windows Server 2008
- Windows Server 2008 R2
- Windows Small Business Server (All versions)
SQL Server versions being removed from Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server support:
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2
Support being removed from Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook:
- Windows Vista
- Windows Server 2008 Remote Desktop Services
- Microsoft Office 2007
Microsoft doesn’t even have an ETA for the next major version of Dynamics CRM, so you won’t need to worry about these changes for at least 6-8 months. We will keep you informed.
Like any other release, Microsoft says they find the need to add or remove items from their supported configurations list to keep current with technology and allow them to provide customers with the best product possible.
