Dynamics GP 2010 Customers Take Note

Microsoft “mainstream” support for Dynamics GP 2010 is ending on 10/13/2015 which means that after that point, you will not receive tax or year-end updates.

So,

  1. If you are running Payroll in Dynamics GP 2010, you need to upgrade to a supported version ASAP, to be able to get the necessary year-end files. Do NOT WAIT to schedule your upgrade.  As you can imagine, our calendar for upgrades is filling up quickly and we do not want to turn anyone away. Please contact your Client Account Manager at Crestwood about what upgrade options are available and will work best for your company.
  2. Even if you are not running payroll, there are often year-end updates to 1099 forms, fixed assets, and more.  And if you are not on a supported version, you won’t get these updates. Please consider upgrading ASAP so you are not caught in a bad situation come January 2016.
  3. Affordable Care Act changes are only included in Dynamics GP versions 2013 and GP 2015, and they require that you have the Human Resources module set up.  The good news is that the HR module is included in GP 2013 and 2015, so if you are upgrading, all you will need to do is set up the module to be able to get all the benefits.

What is “Mainstream Support”?

This is the full version of support that is available from Microsoft for the first 5 years after the product release date.  Products in Mainstream Support are eligible for security updates, hotfixes, paid and free incident support, requests for design changes and new features, and access to Knowledge Base articles.

Once a product reaches the end of Mainstream Support, it moves to “Extended Support”.

What is “Extended Support”?

This is the limited version of support that is offered for the next 5 years after Mainstream Support ends. It only offers support if you pay at the time of service (you will need a credit card when you call), security update support (no hotfixes, tax or year-end updates), and Knowledge Base access. You cannot request fixes or design changes during the Extended Support period.
