Filter Options for Acumatica Generic Inquiries
Posted by Mike Aichinger on December 24, 2015
I use Generic Inquiries and filters in Acumatica every day. It’s my query, filter, or lookup tool when I’m asked to find a specific set of data. By having multiple filters in my Generic Inquiry, I can easily pull variations on my data, by simply clicking on a tab.
There’s some settings that go along with these filters; however, I seem to get quite a few questions on these. Let’s take a look at the settings listed below and where to modify them:
Add the checkmark into the “Default” checkbox to make that particular filter always display first.
For example, New York is my default filter.
To remove a filter in Acumatica, use the “Remove” button at the bottom of the filter settings area.
If you add a checkmark to the “Shared” box, you can now share this filter with others.
Please note: Once the filter is marked as “Shared”, all the other options will gray, as shown in the 2nd image below.
If you need to make changes to the “Default”, “Shared”, or “Remove” options, you now have to go to the Filters form located in the Customization area (Customization > Manage > Filters).
To complete the process, you will need to know the filter name and Filter ID (i.e. Contact –CR3020PL).
Once you find your filter, you should see the screen below:
The filter conditions are in the middle, grid area, and there is an “Is Default” checkbox and a “Make filter Not Shared” button as highlighted in the screen shot above.
If you uncheck the “Is Default” setting, you will have to click on the “Save” button.
If you select the “Make Filter Not Shared” option, the screen will close immediately. You can always go back to the Generic Inquiry area and select the “Shared” checkbox again.
