How to Create a PO from Sales Orders in Acumatica

Review the screenshots below for step-by-step procedures on how to create a PO from a sales order. In the sales order form you can create a purchase order, if it is necessary for fulfilling the sales order. In this scenario, we know we do not have enough stock to sell the item CPU00006V.

To start, click Distribution > Sales Orders > Work Area > Enter > Sales Orders.

The first screenshot below is marked for PO.

 

 

 

 

 




In the actions menu select the create purchase order option.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Immediately, the create purchase orders form will be open.  Select the appropriate line with its vendor and then click on the process button in the toolbar.

 

 

 

 

 



Your PO is ready to be printed.

 

 

 

 

 



Once receipt is received you can release the order.

 

 

 

 

 





This action will close the PO so that you will be able to process the sales orders, create the shipment, and then the invoice.

 

 

 

 

 



From the shipment form, select shipment number (in this case 000204), and then select the confirm shipment from the actions menu.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



With the status as confirmed, the shipment it’s now ready to prepare invoice.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Once the shipment is invoiced, a new invoice with a balance status is created, and ready to be released. The invoice status will change to open and will be ready to be processed in the accounts receivable module.
