Missing Accounts & Duplicate Reports in MR
Posted by Jen Bieker on January 26, 2015
Audit season is upon us, here are a couple helpful and time saving tools found in Management Reporter to help you prepare audit and/or production reports.
Missing Account Analysis
From time to time, your business will need to add new general ledger accounts or dimension values to your chart of accounts.
How do you tell if your numbers are correct and your reports include the newly added account, location, or customer? Management Reporter has the Missing Account Analysis which will allow you to proactively check for missing accounts prior to report generations. This feature enables you to scan all of your report building blocks and receive back a list of values that are not being reported on.
By checking for issues across all report definitions without generating them, you will save time and be able to close your books faster. Here’s the steps for running the Missing Account Analysis:
- In Management Reporter (MR), go to Tools > Missing Account Analysis.
- In the Missing Account Analysis window, highlight the Building Block Rows in the top of the window. You will see the missing accounts displayed in the bottom of the window. For example, this screen shot show you the output for the Balance Sheet:
The Duplicate Accounts Report can be found by marking the ‘Report Duplicate Accounts’ option within the Output and Distribution tab. Then, when the report is generated to the MR library, the Duplicate Accounts Report can be accessed by going to the menu View > Duplicate Accounts.
