Dynamics GP Can Help You with New Overtime Labor Rules
Posted by Georgia Stewart on October 26, 2016
If you have Microsoft Dynamics GP Human Resources and Payroll Suite, you’ll want to make sure you are using the “Overtime Rate Manager”. Starting December 1, 2016 all employers must comply with the Department of Labor (DOL)’s new overtime rules.
This built in feature will help you stay compliant with the new (and a little confusing) overtime rules. The new rules increase the compensation level to be exempt from the FLSA’s minimum wage and overtime standards. The salary requirement jumped from $455 per week to $913 per week for a full-time employee.
There are some options to consider which will affect how overtime is calculated each week and the Dynamics GP Overtime Rate Manager can provide these complex calculations to meet legal requirements, as well as your company policies.
Download Crestwood’s documentation on using the Overtime Rate Manager in Dynamics GP. It contains detailed information, such as:
- Pay Code Setup
- Overtime Methods Setup
- Pay Code Options Setup
- Assign the Pay Codes to the Employees
- Enter Transactions for the Overtime Hours
- Build Checks
- Calculate Checks
Crestwood’s Dynamics GP Support Team is in the process of working with current clients to set up their Overtime Rate Manager. If you would like assistance, or are interested in the HR and Payroll module for Dynamics GP, please email us at Support@Crestwood.com.
