Q2 Roll Out of New Microsoft CRM Offerings

Posted by Donna Krizik on March 3, 2014

Throughout the second quarter of 2014, Microsoft is rolling out some new features:

Codenames - “Mira”, “Subra” and “Leo”.

Mira will be Microsoft Dynamics Marketing, based on marketing automation technology. This technology was acquired when Microsoft bought MarketingPilot in 2012. Microsoft rebuilt Marketing Pilot’s technology and it will be an add-on service that can be used with CRM on-premise, CRM online, or as a standalone offering. The Mira update for Dynamics CRM will feature:

  • An updated version of MarketingPilot that reflects a similar look and feel to Dynamics CRM
  • New marketing automation, lead management and scoring capabilities
  • Enhancements to Microsoft Lync & Skype integration

Subra will officially be known as Microsoft Social Listening. This is a social-analytics technology that adds the capabilities for people to analyze and act on market intelligence from social conversations, including measuring sentiment across a wide array of social channels. It will also allow users to track products, brands and campaigns globally and in real time. This will allow partners to gain a better understanding of their customers and their businesses. Social Listening is an add-on service as well and will be offered for free with some professional CRM Online licenses and for an additional cost to those with CRM on-premise customers.

Lastly, the “Leo” update is the name of the next principal release of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, coming in spring 2014. This update will add the capabilities from the recent acquisition of Parature; a unified service desk for call-center users, and other case management functionality. To learn more about Parature check out our blog post titled, Dynamics CRM 2013 and Parature - A Wave of Innovation.  Some additional features this update will provide are:

  • Revamped customer service functions like knowledge management and more advanced tools to support service level agreements
  • Mobile device improvements
  • Integration with Netbreeze to measure and use social analytics in Dynamics CRM

More details on the features and cost of these updates are said to be announced at Convergence 2014. If you are not attending convergence this year, visit our events page next week to and keep an eye out for our Convergence 2014 Re-Cap webinar.
