SUTA Tax is Not Properly Calculated in Dynamics SL 2015 CU1
Posted by Kami Armes on October 19, 2016
There's a known issue in Microsoft Dynamics 2015 CU1 calculating State Unemployment Tax (SUTA) when a garnishment deduction is changed in the Review/Edit screen (02.030.00). This issue (#36144) has been documented by Microsoft and will be fixed in Dynamics SL 2015 CU2. In the meantime, if you're encountering this problem, here's a couple ways you can manually deal with the incorrect calculation.
- The first option is to uncheck the "Recalculate Subject Earnings" box when entering in a garnishment amount in the "Review/Edit" screen (02.030.00).
- Or, enter the garnishment amount in the Employee Maintenance screen (02.250.00) so it calculates correctly and does not have to be edited.
- The last option is to manually correct the SUTA deduction amount and subject earnings in the Review/Edit Check screen after it is recalculated incorrectly.
