Using Dynamics GP in Spanish and French

Posted by Donna Krizik on August 28, 2014

Would you like to give your Dynamics GP users access in French Canadian or Spanish even though you run your system in English?

The GP 2013 Starter Pack allows you to take advantage of this exceptional benefit.  If you take a look in CustomerSource,  under “License Keys” you can see that you have these options available. [Trouble getting into CustomerSource? Email your account manager and they can set you up in minutes or resend an invite to register].

Here’s how:

  1. Download the ESLA (Spanish) client or FRCA (French Canadian) client from the downloads page (you’ll need to be logged in as an Administrator to do this): https://mbs.microsoft.com/customersource/northamerica/gp/downloads/MDGP2013_Release_Download
  2. Next install the client version that corresponds to your Dynamics GP server version. Install a new instance and name the folder appropriately (examples: GP2013ESLA or GP2013FRCA). Make sure to install only the modules that are already installed for your main Dynamics GP system, otherwise new database objects might be created, and you want to keep everything in sync according to best practices. You can validate which modules to install by going to “add remove programs” on your GP server. (Note: The module names will be displayed in the other language on this selection list.)

For example, “Fixed Assets” is “Administracion de Activos fijos.”

  1. After the install, run Utilities under that newly created Microsoft Dynamics folder to perform a Dynamics GP Sync.

And voila, you are using Dynamics GP in Spanish.

Here’s a sales order entry screen in the Spanish Latin American version of GP 2013 R2.
