The Executives' Club of Chicago Gets Dynamics GP Upgrade on a Budget

Chicago area membership organization switches to Abila for fund accounting, upgrades to Dynamics GP 2016 and reaps the rewards of being on a fully supported version of the software and integration options for both solutions, all on a tight budget.

The Executives' Club, a Crestwood Associates client since 2015, was running Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010. While this version was no longer supported by Microsoft, it was nonetheless meeting The Club’s needs and Crestwood had continued to provide support as required. The question of a Dynamics GP upgrade arose because The Club had decided to move from IMIS to Abila for membership management and fund accounting.
Crestwood suggested that this would be a good time to upgrade from Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 to Dynamics GP 2016. The Club agreed that it made good sense to be on a fully supported version of Dynamics GP, their primary business management software program. Upgrades can be a little pricey and The Club had a strict budget for the project. Cost and time overruns are common and The Club needed to feel confident that Crestwood could and would complete the project on time and on budget.
Developing the quote for the project was the easy part. Developing The Club’s full trust was another story. The Crestwood team pulled together to build their relationship with The Club to ensure their full trust and confidence. It was not just an issue of timeliness and cost, but also skill sets and responsive. Crestwood’s efforts paid off.
The upgrade, conducted by Crestwood Associates, to move The Executives’ Club of Chicago from Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 to Dynamics GP 2016 was accomplished successfully, with no glitches, on time and toward the low end of the quote. The Club did not have a budget for the full integration of Dynamics GP 2016 with Abila. However, Crestwood suggested that training on Integration Manager would give The Club the requisite tools for establishing key connection points between the two systems.
The Club accepted this compromise solution and Integration Manager training has been successfully completed. The Club now reaps the extensive benefits of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016, a fully supported version of the software, for overall business management and Abila for membership management and fund accounting.
